The New American (Catholic) Bible says in Mark 16:17 - "These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons..."
The Douay-Rheims (Catholic) Bible says in Mark 16:17 - "And these signs shall follow them that believe: in my name they shall cast out devils..."
Since the command to cast out demons is in the Catholic Bible, why are Catholics not casting out demons? Why not Priests? Why did Pope John Paul say that he only did this three times in his entire life?
If you are a Catholic, you need to follow the Bible, and not Catholic doctrine.
When did the first "catholic" pop up in history? One source says -
"Constantine is his name. The last Roman Emperor or the first pope. Take your pick. He was part of the transition from 'the Imperial Roman Empire' to 'the Holy Roman Empire' (the Roman Catholic Church). The empire was falling apart so the pagan priests put on a new "Christian" face, and the emperors become Holy Fathers to save the empire. All their god's were given Christian names, and their pagan holy days (holi days) were christianized to control the masses turning to the new faith sweeping the world, which could not be extinguished through force and persecution."

A Train of Hellish Events
The train of incredible hellish events which have led to the current pitiful situation began, I believe, on June 29, 1995, at the Vatican City in Rome. Pope John Paul II and the visiting head of the Orthodox Church stood side by side in harmony on the balcony of the massive Basilica of St. Peter, waving to throngs of admirers who stood below, mingled together around the Egyptian obelisk monument erected in St. Peter's square facing the great basilica. Orthodox Life (Vol. 45, 1995), an official journal published by the Holy Trinity Monastery of the Orthodox Church, chronicled the event:
John Paul II, head of the Roman Catholic Church, and Patriarch Bartholomew, symbolic head of Orthodox Christians, together, on Thursday, June 29, from the balcony of the basilica of St. Peter, blessed their faithful all over the world. They addressed a common appeal for the reunification of the Christian churches, separated for 1,000 years. The two religious leaders came to participate at a mass in the Vatican, where they undertook to redouble their ecumenical efforts…
In an atmosphere charged with intensity… ambassadors credited to the Holy See, members of the Sacred College, and numerous high officials of the Vatican, the Pope, and the Patriarch each in their turn spoke…to express their intention to 'dispel' the misunderstandings which have separated Christians… since the 11th century…
The Patriarch underlined "that today, happily… we have arrived at a maturity." The Pope, in turn, suggested that papal authority would have to be supreme in a unified Church because Christ had given Saint Peter, the first pope, free power to rule the flock on earth.
Lightning Strikes!
So here we have the supreme leaders of the Catholic and Orthodox churches joining ecumenical hands, standing on a balcony as thousands cheer. Then, says Orthodox Life, lightning struck. Literally-
Patriarch Bartholomew then asked Christians to pray and fast to oppose the power of the Devil and to drive out demons. At that exact moment, all the faithful were startled by a lightning bolt which struck the basilica, followed by a violent summer storm.
Was it mere coincidence that the lightning bolt struck just as Bartholomew asked the audience to oppose the power of the Devil and drive out demons? Can Satan cast out Satan? Was it God who sent the lightning and the violent rain, or was it the Devil?
Across the world, spurred by the example of their Pope, interfaith worship services are being conducted in Catholic Church sanctuaries. Pope Fails to Exorcise Mocking Demons
Perhaps the answer was revealed in September, 2000 when Catholic sources (The Record, Louisville Diocese, Louisville, Kentucky; also see Christianity Today, November 13, 2000) revealed that Pope John Paul II, said to be the vicar of Christ on earth, dramatically failed in a personal attempt to cast demons out of a girl.
The 19-year-old girl had flown into a rage during a general audience with the Pontiff inside the Vatican on September 13. She began screaming insults at him, her voice said to be deep, raspy, masculine and cavernous. When security personnel tried to restrain the girl, she displayed superhuman strength in resisting them.
The Pope then personally intervened. He spent a half hour praying over the girl, hugging her, and ordering the demons to leave. The Pope even promised to celebrate a mass especially for her the next day. All to no avail.
The Pope also had the official Catholic exorcist of Rome, priest Gabrielle Amorth, perform repeated exorcism rituals to cast the demons out of the young lady. One ritual lasted two hours. But priest Amorth reported to the Pope that he, too, was unsuccessful.
Chillingly, the priest stated that during his exorcism, one demon inside the girl mocked the Pope, saying, "Not even your church head can send me away!"
In contrast, Jesus told his disciples, "And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils…" (Luke 16:17)
What, then, does their utter inability to order the demons out of this possessed girl tell us about the Pope and his priests?

Mother Theresa Demon-Possessed?
On September 5, 2001 came an equally shocking revelation. The Archbishop of Calcutta (India), Henry D'Couzas, admitted that in 1997, just prior to her death at age 87, the world's most famous nun, the almost universally admired Mother Theresa, had an exorcism performed on her to cast out devils. The exorcism took place, said the Archbishop, in a hospital, at the request of Mother Theresa. She had been having trouble sleeping, he said, and was afraid she was possessed. (See The Fayetteville Observer, Sept. 6, 2001; and The Gospel Catholic, Raleigh, NC 27012). If Mother Theresa was, in fact, possessed by devils, that would explain why she had repeatedly told Hindus they did not need to convert to Jesus to go to heaven. Their own Hindu gods and goddesses were sufficient.
Once, when asked why God allowed so much human pain and suffering on planet earth, Mother Theresa sarcastically replied that when she eventually died and went to heaven, the first thing she was going to say to God was, "You've got a lot of explaining to do."
Doctrines of Devils Attract Devils
Why did God allow these frightful demonic events to occur? Why are devils now attacking and mocking the Pope and those closest to him in the Catholic Church? When we examine the actions of this Pope and of his associates, the answers become clear. The Pope himself has attracted to his person legions of demons because he and his Vatican colleagues have rejected Christ's doctrines, found in the Holy Bible.
Heaven is for All Good People! In December 2000, the Pope issued a Vatican pronouncement that "Heaven is open to all as long as they are good." It is not necessary, the Pope added, for the person to believe in Christ, and he/she may be of another, non-Christian religion. The Pope insisted that, "All of the just on earth, including those who ignore Christ, are called upon to build the Kingdom of God." Interesting. But also a stunning whopper of a lie! The Apostle John said, "The whole world lieth in wickedness." This means that all who reject Christ are helping to build the wicked kingdom of Satan. Jesus stated, "I am the Way, The Truth, and The Life." Jesus is our salvation, not the Jewish rabbis, not Islam’s Mohammed, not the Hindu’s Krishna. Jesus Christ is Lord.
And He, Jesus, said that no one is good or just. No one is righteous in themselves. Instead, a man must be born again in spirit and in truth to enter the Kingdom of Heaven (John 3:3).

Heaven and Hell Not Places: In 1999, Pope John Paul II pleased the devils when he publicly revised and "modernized" the Bible’s ages-old definition of "Heaven." Heaven, the Pope explained, "is not a physical place." And Hell? Well, according to the Vatican, Hell is not a physical place either. It’s simply a temporary "separation from God," chosen by those who choose not to be good.
Yoked with Unbelievers: In January, 2002, the Pope again met at Assissi, Italy with leaders of other religions, including the Hindus, Jains, Zoroastrians, Jews, and Buddhists. He encouraged all to work together in harmony for world peace. The Pontiff assured the satanic servants assembled together that, "We have in common worship of the one true God."
Evidently, the Pope overlooked the fact that Hindus worship some three million deities, and that Buddhists and Shintos pray to their dead ancestors. The Pope also must have forgotten the primary law embodied in the first of God’s Ten Commandments: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
Jewish False Messiah: Also in January, 2002, the Vatican issued an important new doctrinal encyclical that explicitly states, "The Jewish wait for the Messiah is not in vain."
The new doctrinal statement is an eye-opener since, indeed, the Jews do wait for their messiah, the Antichrist, in vain. The true Messiah has already come! His name: Jesus! But this same Jesus prophesied that while he, as Christ and Messiah, came in the name of the Lord, someday, another would come in his own name. Jesus warned that when this false imposter comes, the Jews would tragically believe in him, the imposter, as Messiah! In other words, contrary to the Pope’s soothing lies, the one on whom the Jews now anxiously wait is none other than Antichrist, the Son of Perdition (II Thes. 2).
"I Beheld Lucifer"
And what about that lightning bolt, accompanied by a violent rain that jarred the faithful on June 29th, 1995, heralding the approaching of the New Millennium when it struck St. Peter's Basilica, the very headquarters of world-wide Roman Catholicism? Was it a sign sent by an angry God? Was it the work of the Devil? Or, was the lightning strike simply a coincidental natural phenomenon?
Frankly, I do not know the answer. But I do remember Jesus' breathtaking description in the gospel of Luke of Satan being cast down: "I beheld Lucifer like the lightning from heaven."
My mind also races to Revelation 13:12-18, where we are told of the miraculous evil power to be given the second beast "whom all the world shall worship" except those whose names are written in Christ Jesus' book of Life: "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men."
Could it be that on June 29, 1995, the Catholic Pope and the Orthodox Patriarch, together representing false Christiandom, along with their devoted audience, were on hand at the Vatican, witnesses to that amazing moment when Satan was cast down to earth like lightning from heaven? Did Satan, in the form of a fiery bolt of lightning, come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men?
Out of The Bottomless Pit
Could it also be that at that exact moment, on that same fateful day, June 29, countless devils, locked up for millennia in the abyss, were released, coming forth with fury, prepared for the coming great and final conflict?
And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.
And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.
And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power…
And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. Revelation 9:1-11)

CALCUTTA, India (CNN) -- Senior church officials in Calcutta acknowledge Mother Teresa had an exorcism performed on her in the latter years of life.
The exorcism took place in a hospital where she had gone for cardiac problems, said Archbishop of Calcutta Henry D'Souza. The archbishop himself had been hospitalized at the same facility and shared the same doctor as Mother Teresa.
He said he noticed that while Mother Teresa was calm during the day, at night she appeared "extremely agitated." D'Souza said Mother Teresa would pull off wires and other monitoring equipment stuck to her body.
He said that is when he believed Mother Teresa "might be under the attack of the evil one." He offered to arrange for an exorcism for the elderly nun. She agreed.
"So I said let's do the prayer of exorcism over her. So I called one of the priests who was a holy man in Calcutta," D'Souza said. "I told him, 'Please say the prayer of exorcism over Mother Teresa.' And he got a shock and said, 'Shall I pray and should I drive out the devil if it's there?'"
"I said, 'Yes, you do.' But he says, 'What will the devil do to me?' I said to him, 'You command the devil to go if he's there. In the name of the church, as archbishop, I command you to go and do it.'"

TRUE BIBLE-BELIEVERS DENOUNCED AT PAPAL CONFERENCE
Angry at Christian Bible-believers and others who refuse to acknowledge his spiritual leadership, Pope John Paul II and Vatican cronies have called for an all-out war.
As reported in the Associated Press, with the Tibetan god-man, the Dalai Lama, sitting at his right side, this October in Rome the Pope presided at a special council of some 200 religious leaders of various faiths, sects, and cults.
The Pontiff told the assembled Buddhist monks, Zoroastrian priests, Catholic cardinals, Hindu gurus, American Indian shamen, Jewish rabbis, and ecumenical clergy that all must join in condemning the Christian fundamentalists who "abuse speech" and whose efforts at converting others "incite hatred and violence."
The Pope further directed that the religious leaders promote "tolerance," mutual understanding, and respect for all religions and faiths, not just their own.
All present were in accord on two key points: (1) Pope John Paul II was endorsed by consensus as the planet's chief spiritual guide and overseer; and (2) Religious fundamentalists who refuse to go along with the global ecumenical movement are to be silenced. They must also be denounced as "dangerous extremists" full of hate. Traditional Catholics Stubbornly Object.
The newest global, ecumenical council meeting was met with ridicule and derision by a few Catholic traditionalists. The Roman Catholic newsletter, Auxilium Christianorum, published out of Long Island, New York and noted for its old-fashioned Catholic viewpoints, lashed out at the Pope. Its most recent edition reported:
St. Peter's Basilica--Vatican City, October 28, 1999: Faithful Catholics throughout the world watched in stunned disbelief as Zoroastrians, Buddhists, Shintoists, Confucianists, Jews, and other non-Christian religions gathered together with members of the World Council of Churches, Orthodox, Mennonite, and other heretical sects and false denominations in the Eternal City under the auspices of His Holiness, Pope John Paul II…This pan-religious assembly, held on the very steps of the venerable Basilica of St. Peter, is nothing less than a scheme for the promiscuous union into one body of all the world's religions which were not founded by the will of God but by the will of men."
Meanwhile, the splinter group of Catholic traditionalists that recently chose Capuchin Priest Lucien Pulvermacher as "His Holiness, Pope Pius XIII," have now declared the four Popes reigning in Rome since 1958, including Pope John Paul II, to be "apostate imposters." The recent Popes are accused of having worked to transform and spawn the Roman Catholic Church into a literal "Church of Satan."
It remains to be seen what punishment lies ahead for once faithful Catholics who stubbornly refuse to take part in this "Church of Satan." One thing we know for sure is that, oddly, these Catholic traditionalists will find that former Protestants--men like Chuck Colson, Jim Bakker, Paul Crouch, Billy Graham, Bill Bright, and James Dobson--will not welcome them. These former Protestants now stand side-by-side with the Pope and, as a consequence, with his disciple, the Dalai Lama.
Dealing with Resisters
The global ecumenical movement is rapidly entering its final form. However, four groups are despised and excluded: (1) Protestant Bible-believers; (2) Old-line, traditional Catholics; (3) Shiite Muslims; and (4) Ultra-Orthodox Jews.
The thinking at the Vatican circles is that the Shiite Muslims and Ultra-Orthodox Jews can be bought off. A combination of political power and money--that is, filthy lucre--can win over the leadership of these two groups and encourage them to get their followers into sync with the goals of the elite.
That leaves only the Bible-believing Protestants and the old-line Catholics. These rigid, dogmatic people are hard cases. The elite realize these two types cannot be bought off. So, they must be killed off. The sooner the better, once conditions are right.

This article was published in the "Collateral Loan " Secondhand Dealers Association of California, Fall 1990 issue of their quarterly report". "Now there was a Pharisee named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. 2.He came to JESUS at night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God, for no one can do these signs that you are doing unless God is with him." 3.JESUS answered and said to him, "Amen, Amen, I say to you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above." 4.Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a person once grown old be born again? Surely he cannot reenter his mother's womb and be born again, can he?" 5.JESUS answered, "Amen, Amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and spirit. 6.What is born of flesh is flesh and what is born of spirit is spirit. 7.Do not be amazed that I told you, 'You must be born from above'". Mark 16:17,18 - "These signs will accompany those who believe: IN MY NAME THEY WILL DRIVE OUT DEMONS, they will speak new languages. 18.They will pick up serpents (with their hands), and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick and they will recover."
MARY WAS NOT AND IS NOT PREFERRED MORE THAN OTHER BELIEVERS, THOSE WHO ARE BORN-AGAIN.
Mark 3:31-34; Acts 10:34, 35 - His (JESUS') mother and His brothers arrived. Standing outside they sent word to Him and called Him. 32.A crowd seated around Him told Him, "Your mother and your brothers (and your sisters) are outside asking for you." 33.But He said to them in reply, "Who are My mother and (My) brothers?" 34.And looking around at those seated in the circle, He said, "Here are My mother and My brothers. (For) whoever does the will of God is My brother and sister and mother".
Acts 10:34, 35 - Then Peter began to speak and said, "In truth, I see that God shows no partiality. 35.Rather, in every nation whoever fears God and acts uprightly is acceptable to Him."
OTHER TRUTHS CONCERNING MARY
1. Joseph and Mary were not intimate until after the birth of JESUS (Matthew 1:24,25). When Joseph awoke, he did as the Angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home. 25.He had no relations with her until she bore a son, and he named Him JESUS.
2. Joseph and Mary had children (Mark 6:1-5; Luke 8:19). He departed from there and came to His native place, accompanied by His disciples. 2.When the Sabbath came He began to teach in the synagogue, and many who heard Him were astonished. They said, "Where did this Man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given Him? What mighty deeds are wrought by His hands! 3.Is He not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? And are not His sisters here with us?"
Luke 8:19 - Then His mother and His brothers came to Him, but were unable to join Him because of the crowd.
MARY WAS THE DAUGHTER OF HELI, IN THE LINEAGE OF DAVID (See Luke 3:23). Joseph was ALSO IN THE LINEAGE OF DAVID (See Matthew 1:1-16), but of another branch of the family. Though he was the apparent heir to the Throne of David, an ancestor had so sinned that God has said that none of that ancestor's descendants would occupy the throne, thus through Mary, a descendant of David is upon the Throne of David.
TO BE BORN-AGAIN, CONSIDER ACTS 2:36-39 FOR REQUIREMENT AND SEQUENCE.
Acts 2:36-39 - Therefore, let the whole house of Israel know for certain that God has made Him (JESUS) both Lord and Messiah, this JESUS whom you crucified. Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and they asked Peter and the other apostles, "What are we to do, my brothers?" Peter (said) to them, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of JESUS Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
FROM THE FOREGOING, WE SEE THAT SALVATION RESTS IN THE FINISHED WORK OF THE SON OF GOD, JESUS CHRIST. FOR FURTHER CONSIDERATION OF THIS TRUTH, WE SHOULD EXAMINE THE WORDS OF THE APOSTLE PETER CONTAINED IN ACTS 4:10-12.
"Then all of you and all the people of Israel should know that it was in the name of JESUS Christ, the Nazarene whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead; in His name this man stands before you healed. 11.He is 'the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone'. 12.There is no salvation through anyone else, nor is there any other name under heaven given to the human race by which we are to be saved."
A SAMPLE PRAYER FOR SALVATION
If anyone will accept the truth of these scriptures and realize that theirs is an incomplete profession of faith for salvation, the following prayer, prayed in faith, will bring one into a saving knowledge of our Lord JESUS Christ and into eternal LIFE.
God, I am a sinner! I am hell bound! But I do believe, am wholly convinced, that JESUS Christ died for my sins. I now confess with my mouth that JESUS is Lord and I believe in my heart that you have raised Him from the dead. I repent of all my sins, both of commission and omission. JESUS, come into my life and reign as my Lord and as my Savior. Thank you Father for saving my soul. Amen.
If you truly believe that God has heard this prayer (and He did if you were truly sincere), then you are a child of God. Now, read your bible regularly to find out the full meaning of what it means to be "Born-Again". Seek out the "Born-Again" believer for fellowship. GOD BLESS YOU RICHLY!!!!!

I (Stan) was raised Catholic all my life, and went to Catholic grade school. All my family and relatives are Catholic. I was an unusually good Catholic too. At age 29 I went to a Catholic Charismatic meeting where the leaders led me to the Lord, thereby getting me Saved. Well, it wasn't long after that I discovered had I died as a Catholic before getting Saved, I would have wound up in hell. This made me realize something was wrong with the teaching of the Catholic Church. It was at that point I no longer considered myself a Catholic. "Once a Catholic, always a Catholic" is what you hear a lot. People in satanism are told, "once a satanist, always a satanist." That's not true either.
On my dad's death bed I saw him given "last rites" by the priest. I remember saying to myself, "wow, they wait till the death bed to get them Saved" (because a standard Salvation prayer is used). What about all the Catholics who die without getting these last rites? You can not get Saved after death.
JESUS was a Jew. ALL the disciples were Jews. After JESUS rose from the dead, it was a long, long time before the "Believers" were called "Christian". This means all the disciples were just called "Believers".
When someone asks me what I am, I just say, "I'm just a Christian". Most everyone else would answer, "I'm a Catholic" or "Baptist" or "Assembly of God" or whatever. Man made all denominations, including the term "Catholic".
Since you managed to open this web page, you could not have missed the paragraph on our main page saying what a real Christian is. Most of the Catholics I know either drink, smoke, cuss, etc. and live like the unsaved, or do all of it. They think they can live this way, go to confession, and go to Heaven when they die. According to the Bible, they go to hell if there is sin in their life when they die. JESUS said you have to go through Him to get to heaven, not Mary or a priest.
This E-mail I received suggested I ask a Catholic Bishop to explain the term "brothers and sisters" (to explain away the fact that JESUS had at least four brothers, mentioned by name, and at least two sisters). This is most of the problem. People would rather believe what someone in "authority" would say instead of looking it up in their own Bible. What is so wrong with the idea that Mary got pregnant at least seven times ACCORDING TO THE CATHOLIC BIBLE.
Peter was married. JESUS healed Peter's mother-in-law of a fever. JESUS cast that demon OUT of her.
The word "Pope" was never used prior to a meeting of Bishops about 300 years after Christ. It was at that meeting that they "backdated" all the "Popes", including Peter. The term "Purgatory" was invented about the same time. There are no places recorded in your Bible that are between Heaven and hell. This is all recorded Catholic history. The normal Catholic never hears about this kind of stuff.
If you are a Catholic, but do not go along with the Pope, stop calling yourself Catholic.

Move to upgrade Mary's status slowed, but debate rages

The issue of Mary remains one of the hottest debates on the Protestant/Roman Catholic divide, and new proposals for Marian doctrines are likely to ignite a theological conflagration. At stake is not only the biblical understanding of Mary, but the integrity of the work of Christ.
The current debate came to light in the Vatican newspaper L'Observatore Romano, which reported in early summer that the pope had asked a commission of Catholic theologians to consider the advisability of declaring Mary "Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix of All Graces and Advocate for the People of God." According to the paper, the 23 theologians-all experts on Mariology-unanimously recommended that the pope drop the proposal. And yet, according to a constant stream of reports in the media, this pope is not easily deterred. John Paul II seems intent upon raising Marian devotion to new heights under his pontificate, and his consistency in this regard is reflected in nearly every papal statement.
Evangelicals naturally wince when Catholics exhibit Marian devotion. The entire structure of Marian theology is so foreign to the Bible that evangelicals have difficulty understanding how such an unbiblical notion could have arisen, much less gained near supremacy in Roman Catholic popular devotion. How can the veneration of Mary not lead to a decrease of devotion to Christ?
That same question troubled a young Polish man named Karol Wojtyla, who would later be Pope John Paul II. As a young factory worker, he was attracted to Marian devotion, but first he had to get over his concern "that I should distance myself a bit from the Marian devotion of my childhood, in order to focus more on Christ." He did overcome this concern, and he entered a new "mature form of devotion to the Mother of God."
Proponents of the new Marian dogmas have organized a massive lobbying effort with the Vatican. According to some reports, the pope has received almost 4.5 million signatures on petitions, and an average of more than 100,000 letters per month. Much of the energy (and money) behind this movement is from the United States, where a coalition of Marian devotees is pushing for a papal declaration.
Mother Angelica of religious television couches her exhortation in a warning: "If the Holy Father would define this dogma, it would save the world from great catastrophes and loosen God's mercy even more upon this world." Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici ("The Voice of the People for Mary Mediatrix"), a Catholic lay movement based in Steubenville, Ohio, is spearheading much of the effort. Its founder, Mark Miravalle of Franciscan University, states that he has "great moral certainty" the new doctrines will be declared by John Paul II to be infallibly revealed dogmas of the Roman Catholic church before the year 2000.
Currently, the church recognizes four Marian dogmas. The most important of these, Mary's divine maternity, was defined by the Council of Ephesus in 431, granting that Mary is rightly called "God-bearer" because she was the mother of Christ. Later dogmas declared Mary's perpetual virginity (649), Immaculate Conception (1854), and Bodily Assumption (1950).
Tragically, each new Marian doctrine has moved Roman Catholic theology and devotion increasingly away from the Holy Scriptures and toward human innovation. In reality, the declaration of Mary as "God-bearer" brought ill effects upon the Catholic church. The original issue in that fifth-century debate was not Mary at all, but Christ. The council acknowledged Mary was the "God-bearer" in order to affirm the deity of Christ without question.
Quickly, however, the doctrine came to magnify Mary. In popular Catholic devotion-and in the writings and sermons of popes-Mary is now called the Queen of Heaven, the Mother of all Graces, and an abundance of other unbiblical titles. By the time of the Reformation, the veneration of Mary was established Catholic piety and theology. In the medieval church, Mary was already understood in a mediatorial role, and as intercessor to her Son. As John Calvin retorted, praying to Mary "is assuredly altogether alien from the Word of God." As the Bible clearly reveals, there is but one Mediator, Jesus Christ, and his mediatorial work cannot be supplemented by Mary.
While careful Catholic theologians insist their Marian doctrines do not diminish or impugn the saving work of Christ, Marian devotion is profoundly lacking in biblical support. Scripture reveals Mary to be a worthy model of humble submission to the will of God, as the virgin who was the mother of our Lord Jesus Christ. But Scripture does not reveal any suggestion that Mary is to be venerated, that she should be honored with unbiblical titles, that she was perpetually a virgin, that she was conceived without sin, that she was assumed into heaven before death, that she participated in any way in the atonement, or that she serves in any mediatorial role. To the contrary, the Bible makes clear the only true worship is the worship of the one true God-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
THE FIFTH MARIAN DOGMA
Mary: Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, Advocate
We are all privileged to be living during the climax of the universally designated "Age of Mary". International Marian Centres such as Lourdes, Fatima and places of contemporary apparition, as well as numerous other contemporary Marian move- ments manifest the present climax of love and devotion to the Mother of Jesus throughout the world.
But along with a climax in devotion to Our Lady, this Age of Mary is also crucially calling for a climax in the doctrine about Mary. For authentic love of Mary must be firmly based upon the authentic truth about Mary.
Up to the present time in the history of the church, four Marian doctrines have been defined as central Catholic truths by the Church: the Motherhood of God, the Immaculate Conception, the Perpetual Virginity of Mary, and her Glorious Assumption into heaven. It is now time for the church, at the summit of this Marian era, to proclaim and define the fifth and final Marian doctrine, that is, Mary's universal mediation as coredemp- trix, Mediatrix of all grace, and advocate for the people of God.
When the Church invokes Mary under the title, "Coredemptrix", she means that Mary uniquely participated in the redemption of the human family by Jesus Christ, Our Lord and savior. At the Annunciation (cf.Lk.1:38) Mary freely cooperated in giving the Second Person of the Trinity his human body which is the very instrument of redemption, as Scripture tells us: "We have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all" (Heb.10:10).
And at the foot of the cross of our savior (Jn.19:26), Mary's intense sufferings, united with those of her Son, as Pope John Paul II tells us, were, "also a contribution to the Redemption of us all" (Salvifici Doloris, n.25). Because of this intimate sharing in the redemption accomplished by the Lord, the Mother of the Redeemer is uniquely and rightly referred to by Pope John Paul II and the Church as the "Coredemptrix."
It is important to note that the prefix "co" in the title Core- demptrix does not mean "equal to" but rather "with", coming from the Latin word cum. The Marian title Coredemptrix never places Mary on a level of equality with her Divine Son, Jesus Christ. Rather it refers to Mary's unique human participation which is completely secondary and subordinate to the redeeming role of Jesus, who alone is true God and true Man.
Secondly, Mary is invoked in the Church under the title Mediatrix of all grace. All the graces which flow from the redemption of Jesus Christ are granted to the human family through the motherly intercession of Mary. Mary mediated Jesus Christ, the Author of all graces, to the world when she agreed to be the human mother of God made man (cf. Lk 1:38). And from the cross at Calvary (Jn 19:26) and as the final gift to humanity, Jesus gives Mary as a spiritual mother to us all: "Son, behold your mother" (cf. Jn 19:26). For this reason, Vatican II refers to Mary as a "mother to us in the order of grace " (Lumen Gentium, n. 62) and several twentieth century popes have officially taught the doctrine of Mary as Mediatrix of all graces, quoting the words of St Bernard: "It is the will of God that we obtain all favours through Mary." The Mediatrix performs this task in inti- mate union with the Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier, with whom she began the drama of our Lord's Redemption at the Annunciation (cf. Lk. 1:35).
Thirdly, Mary is our Advocate for people of God, in that she takes the petitions of her earthly children, especially in times of difficulties, and brings them through her maternal interces- sion before her Son and our Lord Jesus.
In the Old Testament, the Queen Mother brought the petitioned needs of the people of Israel to the throne of her son the king (cf. 1 Kings 2:19). Now Mary is the new Queen Mother and Advocate in the new Kingdom of her Son, who brings the peti- tioned needs of the people of God to the throne of her glorious Son, Christ the King, particularly in our present difficult times.
The universal mediation of the Mother of Jesus as Coredemp- trix, Mediatrix of all graces, and Advocate for the people of God is already contained in the official and authoritative teach- ings of the Church's Magisterium. Now, at the summit of the Marian era, what remains is the final proclamation by the Church of this final Marian doctrine as Christian dogma re- vealed by God.
Dr. Mark Miravalle, Associate Professor of Theology and Mariology at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, has written the book, MARY: COREDEMPTRIX, MEDIATRIX, ADVOCATE. This work theolo- gically expounds these roles of Mary in Scripture, Apostolic Tradition, and the teachings of the Church's Magisterium, and humbly calls for our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, to proclaim and define the universal mediation of Mary as Core- demptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate as "Christian dogma revealed by God, in rightful veneration of the Mother of Jesus, and for the good of the one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church of Christ". Cardinal Luigi Ciappi, O.P., who served as Papal Theologian for every pope from Pius XII to John Paul II, has written the foreword in strong endorsement of this work, and himself asserts, quoting the call for papal definition of Mary, Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate, "I share the hope of Dr. Mark Miravalle".
Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici (Voice of the People for Mary Mediatrix) is an international lay organization that seeks to work for the papal definition of our Lady as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix, and Advocate by gathering petitions from the faith- ful throughout the world in humble support of our Holy Father for this final Marian dogma. Vox Populi is distributing Pro- fessor Miravalle's work throughout the world in nine lan- guages, and has already received 2.5 million petitions from more than 132 countries worldwide. Vox Populi has also received the endorsements of 36 Cardinals and over 130 Bishops worldwide from the Universal Church. The two previous popes who defined Marian Dogma, Pius IX and Pius XII, both referred to the inter- national petitions of the faithful as one of the criteria that led to the final acts of papally defining the Marian dogmas of the Immaculate Conception and the Assumption.

There is mounting evidence that Pope John Paul II may declare Mary the Co-Redemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate of humanity as the fifth official Catholic Marian dogma (article of faith) on Pentecost of 1998! According to Dr. Mark I. Miravalle of the Franciscan University of Steubenville, organizer of the "Vox Populi Mariae Mediatrici" movement, the date for the promulgation of the dogma has definately been set for May 31, 1998, which was formerly the liturgical feast of Mediatrix of All Graces, which was established by Pope Benedict XV. Catholic representatives from all over the world have been called to Rome for the World Congress of Ecclesial Movements, meeting May 27 to 29, immediately prior to the Pentecost festival, and Catholic anticipation is running high that Pope John Paul II may indeed announce Mary to be the Coredemptrix of all humanity to this assembly in St. Peter's Square, perhaps as early as Saturday, the 30th of May.
The five Marian dogmas would then be:
1. that Mary is the "Mother of God"
2. that Mary was "Ever-Virgin"
3. that Mary was herself "immaculately conceived" (without sin)
4. that Mary was assumed into Heaven and crowned "Queen of Heaven and Earth"
5. that Mary is "Mediatrix of all Graces, Co-Redemptrix and Advocate"
Pope John Paul II is very much a champion of Mary. On May 13, 1981 you will recall, there was an assassination attempt made on John Paul II in St. Peter's square. Interestingly enough, that date also commemorates the first appearance of the apparition of Our Lady of Fatima in 1917 in Portugal. John Paul II credits his survival of the assassination attempt to the direct intervention of Mary! On the following May 13th after his recovery, in 1982, the Pope made a pilgrimage to Fatima to worship at the shrine dedicated to Mary to express his thanks to her for saving his life! It is quite likely, in my humble opinion, that this petition request to elevate belief in Mary as Coredemptrix, Mediatrix and Advocate of humanity, to the level of dogma and an article of faith, will indeed succeed and be the crowning act of antichrist apostasy for the 20th century!

40-60 AD
Nicolas, one of the first seven church Deacons (Ac 6:5) develops and introduces the doctrine of the NICOLAITANES to the early Christian church world (Rev 2:6). In his doctrine based on Greek dualism, he and his followers declared that Christian are sinners saved by grace which meant Christians could look like the world, dress like the world, and live like the world in all types of sin and still remain saved. His teaching laid the foundation for the development of the doctrines of Eternal Security, once saved always saved and confession to a priest while living in sin. Since his teaching required no outward or inward change to be saved (No Repentance), he and his followers attracted large numbers of converts both from the many pagan religious systems of his day and the Apostolic Christian church world. His message to the Apostolic church world was why live in the legalism and bondage of holiness and sanctification teachings of the Apostles when you can be free in Jesus through his teachings?
The doctrine of the Nicolaitans violated Apostolic teaching on self-sanctification and holiness which was a part of their teaching on salvation. In Apostolic teaching a holiness lifestyle covered standards of dress, types of activities Christians took part in or did not take part in, and daily living codes of conduct. (Ro 6:1, 12:1, I Thl 4:3-7, I Ti 2:8-10, He 12:14, I Pe 1:15-16 + many more).
70-150 AD
The development of Scholastic Theology as a system to interpret the scriptures begins to be used by Christian intellectuals. It is this developing system that results in the creation of the Trinity Christian world with a complete departure from the gospel of the Apostles and the plan of salvation given to them by the Lord Jesus Christ. With the development of the Trinity Christian religious world the gospel of the Apostles is labeled a heresy. In the following scriptures Paul, Peter, and Jude, address and warn of the coming of the Nicolaitans, Church Fathers, Reformers, and many other non-Apostolic groups with their false doctrines.
It is also very interesting to note with the slow development of SCHOLASTIC THEOLOGY the receiving of the baptism of the Holy ghost with the evidence of speaking in unknown tongues did not take place with those who were in leadership or those being taught via the NEW study system.
Of special note. When the Great Falling Away began it started with changing Apostolic teaching on repentance-holiness and sin, then water baptism and Spirit baptism and the application the blood, then to the godhead. All of these gospel of salvation doctrines were completely changed between 50 AD-325 AD by the Nicolaitanes and the Church Fathers.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Justin Martyr, makes the first change in Apostolic teaching on water baptism and the godhead. Since Justin did not believe that Jesus was God The Father manifested in the flesh as the Apostles taught, he baptized his converts as follows: "I baptize you in the name of God the Father and the Lord of all, and our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost". Justin believed and taught as the Jews, that the name of God was so holy and such a great mystery that man could never know it. This is why he believed God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ were two different persons. It was this unbelief in the name of Jesus Christ as being also the name of God the Father and the Holy Ghost that laid the foundation of the coming development of the different trinities in the Christian religious world.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause god shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth , but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
190-200 AD
Origen (philosopher) and Tertullian (lawyer) who became believers via the teachings of Justin Martyr change Justin Marty's baptismal formula to just quoting Mt 28:19. In this second (Church Father) change on water baptism the teachings of the Apostles are also rejected and both Origen and Tertullian begin to express a difference between the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost as three different persons of the godhead. In 200 AD Tertullian adopts the Roman pagan word "Trinitas" as a description of the three persons of the Christian godhead. Both men at this time developed two different doctrines of the Christian trinity which in fact is not Christian but are modifications and adaptations from the pagan trinities.
OF NOTE: Origen developed what is called the Eastern trinity which formed the foundational teachings of the Greek Orthodox religious system and Tertullian developed the Western Latin trinity which became the foundational teaching of the Roman Catholic religious system. Of importance the word trinity was used for the first time in Christian theology in 200 AD and does not appear in the scriptures. The Trinitarians have always believed for one to be a saved Christian one must be trinity. If this were so then ALL those who follow the teachings of the Apostles including the Apostles were never saved because they never believed in any type of trinity.

The Arian heresy develops in the eastern part of the Roman Empire. In the teaching of Arus, the divinity of Jesus Christ is denied and God who was manifested in the flesh and body of Jesus Christ was declared to be nothing more than the adopted Son of God. If it were not for the intervention of Constantine in 325 AD this heresy would have completely taken over the Eastern Church world which later became the Greek Orthodox Church world.
325 AD
Under the Emperor Constantine at the Council of Nicaea, the Western trinity of Tertullian and the trinity formula of water baptism becomes the official doctrine for all Christina churches in the Roman Empire, by Imperial decree. All religious systems outside of the trinity were declared to be heresies including the teachings of the Apostles and the teachings of Arias along with many other groups. Under Constantine, the so-called trinity Christian religious world became the national religion of the Empire. At this time, the prophecy of the Apostle Peter in 2 Pe 2:1-2 was fulfilled.
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring you, upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth (The Gospel of the Apostles) shall be evil spoken of.
Following the Council of Nicaea the Apostolic church world within the boundaries of the Roman Empire was either driven underground and or scattered by persecution from the government and the new Roman Catholic Church and trinity believers.
Infant baptism by sprinkling becomes compulsory in the Western church world.
451 AD

Boniface III, is the first trinity bishopo adopts the name Pope in the Roman Catholic Church. The bishop of Rome only makes this move after the fall of the Roman Empire.

Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox churches split over papal authority, different modes of water baptism, and the veneration of dead saints and images. It should be noted because of the language difference between Greek and Latin, and the trinity difference between East and West the unofficial split took place around 500 AD but the official split did not take place until 1056 AD.

Day of Pentecost, 33 AD. The Apostle Peter introduces the New Covenant teaching on water baptism (Ac 2:38). In Apostolic teaching water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ was and is central to salvation. This is because the Apostles taught their converts that water baptism in Jesus Name is where the blood of Jesus Christ is first applied to a convert. It is the application of the blood in the water that applied all seven functions of the blood to the convert that resulted in the state of salvation for the convert.
Also in Apostolic teaching water baptism had to be done by submersion down into the water. Pouring on, sprinkling, and infant baptism was never taught by the Apostles.
In Mt 16:18-19 the Word of God tells us the Apostle Peter was given the keys to the kingdom of heaven and how he expressed these keys was forever bound and loosed in heaven and earth. This indicates any change of any kind to the requirements of Repentance, Water Baptism by Submersion, and the exclusive use of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in water baptism will result in a change to the keys of Peter and will not be accepted as the one pathway to salvation and heaven.
150 AD
Justin Martyr makes the first change in Apostolic teaching on water baptism. While he keeps Apostolic teaching on repentance, the blood, and submersion.
220 AD
Origen begins teaching the doctrine of infant baptism because of the perceived doctrine of original sin at his pre-baptismal school in Alexandria Egypt.
325 AD
Under Emperor Constantine at the Council of Nicaea the holy trinity and the trinity formula of water baptism are declared official doctrine of the empire and the Roman Catholic Church.
416 AD
Infant baptism becomes universal teaching of the Roman Catholic Church.
During the dark ages and mediaeval times the Roman Catholic Church adopts to additional forms of water baptism. These are pouring water on and sprinkling. In their church writings they acknowledge these changes came via tradition and there is no Bible foundation for these changes. In the Greek Orthodox churches of the East these two new forms of water baptism are rejected as false doctrine.
With the coming of the reformation movement and Martin Luther, water baptism is declared to have no saving quality and is only an outward sign of an inward faith. This is due to the fact that the Reformers believed the blood was applied at confession and not in water baptism.
